Three months of changes:

The "old" volunteers traveled back to Germany in mid-September, so that the responsibility of the projects is now in the hands of the "new ones" Alexander Weise and Lukas Fischer. The projects have already been divided among them and because they were instructed to the projects, the transition could happen without any problems.
In this period we received a generous donation from the charity-run of the St. Michaels-High School Metten, therefore we were able to buy the neighbouring plot. Now there is enough room in the Association to start the tree nursery and reforestation project.
The soil had already been available, so we have filled about 2.000 bags with soil for the seeds.
But our goal for this year is to produce 20.000 seedlings.

We participated into two major conferences about beekeeping. The first one was in João Pessoa which was about the apiculture in our state Paraíba, combined with a trade show where many new products around the agriculture were exhibited. For our beekeepers it provided valuable further information for their work.
The second congress took place in Salvador, the capital of the state Bahia. This event, which lasted three days, informed the people about the situation of beekeeping in the whole north-eastern Brazil, as well as about the market of this region. In addition special training for the beekeepers was offered.
Furthermore there was a trade show and thanks to a donation of Aktion Hoffnung we were able to buy a lot of new material for our beekeepers in Araruna. With this new material, our bee projects can continue their work more efficiently and more beekeepers in and around Araruna can be supported.

The cooperation with the German padre Christian Muffler who works in the state Pernambuco which lies in the south of Paraíba, is going on well.
Through our financial support and his engagement on the ground three water projects were completed successfully and the work on two others will probably end in November.
In addition, our Mutirão group (Mutirão is a sort of community work, where many volunteers help a family, which couldn't handle the work itself) could already organize and realize three projects, so that a family in Araruna can now use their new kitchen and thus have more room for the children. A family in Varelo de Baixo got a new covered roof and plastered walls which protect from rain and cold and one of the poorest neighbourhoods of Araruna is happy about the reparation of their font which guarantees them access to water.

Since the rainy season is over we finally have been able to buy new goats and sheep for the projects and are about to distribute them to several families in the surroundings of Araruna.
Thanks a lot to all the donors from Germany, who enabled us to purchase the animals which made so many families happy.
Last but not least two meetings of the children's group took place in this month, one in the community Altogrande and the other here in the Association.
The children were able to pray together and exchange ideas about their faith, but also have a lot of fun,
while playing games and just have a nice day without being constantly aware of their poor conditions.
Again, many thanks to all the donors from Germany, who made all these new changes possible.
